Hollis was loved by so many people at Best Buy. He would come in at first with all of his tablets to get help from Geek Squad. Then as time passed he would just come in to talk. I would love to sit and talk with him. He had the best stories. He loved his family so much and would talk about them a lot. My thoughts are with his family and friends. He will definitely be missed.

Grandpa taught me the importance of hard work. 

He also taught me about computers which I followed him in his field of software development.

I will always remember mowing the grass at his house as a child and helping him around his place. He would love his bluegrass music and we enjoy grandma’s chili. At night before bed we have a squirrel (aka cereal) before bed. He said we had to squirrel some food for later lol

Grandpa was a D-Day veteran and would tell us of his time in Europe during the war. He was proud to wear his D-Day cap and would relax outside on patio while facing the American flag. 

I will miss him and looking forward to seeing them both in Heaven.

My family and I enjoyed coming to visit Uncle Hollis and Aunt Dorris and all our cousins back in the 60’s. California was a great place to visit for us, being from a small town in TN. I remember swimming, the beach, attending Vacation Bible school, and so many other activities (and of course Disneyland). Uncle Hollis and Aunt Dorris always made us feel welcomed. When I was a little older I remember uncle Hollis’ stories of working in the computing field back in ‘the old days’.  Rest In Peace Uncle Hollis. God bless all the Mellon family! Harold Wright, Jr.

Mr .Mellon was my patient for many years at the Riverview VA. I always enjoyed talking with him and was honored to serve him as he served our country in WWII. I am deeply sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with his you, his children, at this time.
