Danny Watkins

He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 with his loving wife, Brenda, by his side.

Danny was educated in the public schools of Montgomery before joining the United States Air Force from which he retired. While serving in the Air Force, he earned a bachelors degree from The University of South Carolina and a master's degree from Troy State University.

He was united in marriage for 17 years to the former Brenda Joyce Wilder, and they were blessed with one son, Chase Brandon.

Mr. Watkins was a proud American, United States Air Force/Retired MSgt, Comptroller and Special Operations Force Acquirer. He served the United States Special Operations Command and their team in a number of financial management positions as an Air Force Comptroller Superintendent, Senior Consultant with Booz Allen and Hamilton, and most recently as an Air Force Civilian Senior Financial Manager with the Special Operations Research, Development and Acquisition Center Comptroller team.‎ He was a team player, mentor, and skilled financial manager who always had the Special Operations' operator in mind as he contributed daily to the success of the SOF mission.

Danny loved fishing, watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and watching his son play football and baseball. He was predeceased by his father and brother, William Watkins, Jr.

In addition to his wife and son of the home, Danny is survived by his mother; brother, Rick (Pamela) Watkins; sisters, Annetta (Kenneth) Scott, Vicki Watkins, and Venita Watkins; mother-in-law, Louise Wilder; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended loving family members, and a circle of good friends and co-workers.
