Anne Marie Girolami, a lifelong resident of the Tampa, Florida area, passed away peacefully in hospice care after a courageous battle with stage 4 kidney cancer. Born on June 20, 1960, in Tampa, Anne lived most of her life in the Tampa, Brandon, and Valrico communities.
A talented and creative soul, Anne self-published several books, leaving a legacy of her love for storytelling. From a young age, she was passionate about the arts, participating in ballet and Spanish dancing during her school years. This love stayed with her throughout her life as she continued to appreciate music and the performing arts. She also enjoyed water aerobics and found joy in singing at her churches, St. Clement Roman Catholic Church and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Anne is survived by her two loving sisters, Laura Girolami Rose, and Janet Girolami Ponichtera and as well as her nephew, Nicholas Ponichtera, her niece, Kimberly Ponichtera LePage and great nephew Lyle Joseph LePage. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Joe Girolami, whom she cherished deeply.
Throughout her illness, Anne displayed incredible strength, bravery, and stoicism, inspiring those around her with her resilience. Her family and friends will always remember her creative spirit and the courage with which she faced life’s challenges.
A funeral mass will for Anne will be celebrated 8:45 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024 St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 1104 North Alexander Street, Plant City, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, Anne has asked for donations to be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
