Edward was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Lake Hopatcong, NJ and a longtime resident of Andover Township. He attended Morris County Community College and worked for Holland Manufacturing for more than 50 years holding many positions with the company.
As a child, Edward frequently visited Coney Island. He loved Nathans hotdogs and his beloved cats, Fossie and Simba. Edward found peace and joy in gardening. He enjoyed crabbing as a young man and later in life took pleasure in trips to Long Beach Island, Disney World and many cruise ship adventures.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Edward R. and Dolores (Angerano) Florio. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Florio; his children, Christine Florio and husband, Henry, Nicole Florio, and Deidre Stoll and husband, Ted; his brother, Arthur Florio and wife, Alice; and his grandchildren, Jordan and wife, Brianna, Savannah, Emma, Adrian, Devin and Bailee.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C.C., 209 Rt. 206, Branchville, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Newton, NJ.
