Dennis was raised in Lyndhurst, NJ and was a resident of Sussex County for the past 38 years.
He was a plant manager for Hartz Mountain Industries formerly of Jersey City prior to his retirement in 2002. Dennis was a US Navy veteran serving from 1968 to 1973. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, The American Legion Post 157 of Branchville NJ, and the Knights of Columbus 3644 of Wallington, NJ. An avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and overseeing his farm.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Rita Byland Petrullo; his son Dennis Petrullo (Danielle); and his daughter Mary K Petrullo (Alexander VanDerToorn); his sister Patricia Tita (Joseph Tita); his three beloved nieces; his dear friend Eddie, his dear friend Richie, his dear friend Bob and his beloved dog Abby.
Dennis was preceded in death by his son Michael D Petrullo and his son Angelo Petrullo; his father Michael Petrullo and his mother Angeline Carlone Petrullo. Grandchildren; Alice, Angeline, Ashley and Theo.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville, NJ 07826. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church 209 US-206, Branchville, NJ 07826. Interment with military honors will follow at Frankford Plains Cemetery, 100 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ 07822.
