Susan Roberts passed away peacefully in her home in the company of her loving husband, Lorne in the early hours of December 19th.
Susan is the daughter of the late George and Teddy Ramer. She will always be cherished by Lorne, her husband, her children, Mark Adam Roberts, his wife, Lisa Althea Marie and their children Wyatt and Clayton, Ryan John Roberts and his partner Dexter Fedor, Margaret Kathleen Roberts, and Mylene Tara Fraser, her husband Mark David and their children Cole and Paige. She is also survived by her sister Linda Carnie and her husband Richard, Dale and Shirley Ramer.
Susan will be warmly remembered by many loving nieces and nephews.
Susan’s life has been defined by strength, family, humor, humility and a desire to help others. As a child, Susan overcame great adversity when diagnosed with polio. Her strength of spirit was obvious to her family in refusing to let her illness slow her down.
Her zest for life created a safe, warm and inviting home that had doors ever open to anyone in need. She routinely put others’ needs ahead of her own. Susan’s life-long commitment to love of family was exemplified in adopting two beautiful baby girls, Peggy and Mylene. Always an open door at the family home, she offered sanctuary, guidance, and great snacks to every friend of the children.
Susan had a generous sense of humor- anyone that needed a laugh could find one at the Roberts family home.
Susan’s joy in life were her husband Lorne, their four children, and in time, by four beautiful grandchildren. She managed regular escapes with “the girls” and remained very close with her sister, Linda, and brother, Dale.
Her laughter could be found on the golf course, around the card table, and in any social setting where she could offer her skills as a host, listener and confidante. Susan’s infectious smile, tenacity, and simple desire to help others will never be forgotten by anyone lucky to know her.
A celebration of Susan's life will be held at Andrew's Community Funeral Center, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, L6T 5N9 at 1pm, followed by a reception. Donations would be gratefully accepted in her name by the March of Dimes.
