Mrs. Flett was an amazing human being. She will be remembered as a daughter, devoted wife, loving mother to Sheri and Glenn, and proud grandmother to Paget and Robbie. She was a friend to all who made her acquaintance.
In everything she did, Mrs. Flett followed her heart. She wore her heart on her sleeve and shared it with the world. She embodied a profound love of learning. This propelled her to become a passionate educator and school and community leader. Mrs. Flett was a fierce advocate for all children and their families. She was a dedicated supporter of educators and believed in the power of educating one's self. Mrs. Flett elevated each person she met, no matter how young or old. She welcomed everyone with open arms and, in doing so, she created the Tall Pines School family; a family that meant the world to her.
On this solemn day, we celebrate Mrs. Flett's life journey. This journey was filled with many obstacles. However, these obstacles became her blessings in disguise. Mrs. Flett took each blessing in her life and shared it with the world the only way she knew how; through the power of love. Her struggles strengthened her spirit, and her achievements moulded her into the woman we so loved and admired. She exemplified what any human can achieve through the virtues of courage, determination, and perseverance. For those of us who knew her well, we were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her. She taught us the importance of compassion and of being of service to others. She was the essence of kindness, and her life was a living example of this virtue. Mrs. Flett was an inspiration to us all. She was a legacy. As we move forward in the physical world, we know that Mrs. Flett's spirit will live on in each of us and in everything we do here at Tall Pines School. We will strive to keep her legacy alive. Her vision will not waver.
Mrs. Mary Elaine Flett, we honour you.
We salute you.
May you rest in peace.
