Barry is missed by so many, but fondly remembered by myself and my family where we enjoyed  20 + years of friendship.  Working together professionally at the annual Children's Christmas party as our Santa, and then later as friends.  Condolences to Elizabeth and family.

Dear Barry,
I have lots of fond memories of you. One of the most endearing ones is how thoughtful you were after George’s death. You would phone every week to see how I was. Another memory was your wonderful speech at my 90th birthday telling of our trip to Ridgetown to doctor your arm. You also finished that speech with,  “ You rock ! “. I loved it.
One of your favourite expressions was, to make a long  story short. Unfortunately it never worked for you ! But I wish you could make one more speech for my birthday which is coming up soon. I will be thinking of you and missing you. Love Celia

Uncle Barry and I shared a love of cars. I remember a beautiful two tone convertible Pontiac at Rondeau when I was about  four in the late 50’s. There is a photo of many of us standing by the car . Barry was beaming as it was a was truly a thing of beauty. Later I got to drive Papa’s Mercedes Benz which Barry inherited. We both loved that incredible car. Barry also loved to see pictures of my two vintage autos but his collectable MGB two seater  sports car was the best. 

I  picture Barry in the that car now, driving on some heavenly road. It is sunny and warm.  In the passenger seat are couple of  spoiled Yorkies and an aging beloved cat .  Wind is blowing hair and fur alike .  Driver and  passengers are in fact, all smiling . Lives well lived.

To use an Uncle Barry expression, “ To make a long story short “,  your humour, kindness and gentle nature will be missed  by everyone who knew you Barry.

Dear Entire Watson Family please note that my family and two sisters are thinking of you during this time with the passing of our good neighbour at Rondeau Barry.  With the history of the Watson and Thompson families, it is difficult for me to pin down just one story since both families go back a few generations; however lots of good remembrances.  I remember my Uncle Jim telling me that both Barry and he could touch the waves at the top of the last dune next to our cottages when they were boys - now many yards separate that dune from the water's edge at least this year.  Certainly, as a kid Barry gave me the title of "Johnny Wanny" (not sure how that is spelled...); the times on the Watson's cottage swing when he would draw for us; rushing the waves of Lake Erie;  seeing how his kids followed him to the beach when they were little and back again; the washing of feet at the Watson's outside tap (that is if their cottage pump was working) and later his interest in my watercolors and how he enjoyed eating ice cream overlooking the bay. Dear Barry.  We have travelled a long road as twins having reached our 90th birthdays.  I have always loved  being your twin sister   While our roads have diverged over the years our deep seated love has never wavered.   Some of our happiest days were shared with family around the dinner table at our beloved cottage in Rondeau Park.  Our beloved sister Celia  put up with our antics most of the time!  I remember you with love and gratitude, dear Barry.

A wonderful, gentle and kind uncle and I was so fortunate to be your niece. Memories will endure of our painting projects and especially your incredibly creative speech to the bride (me) when you hung up diapers with initials of my name! Apparently, you were called upon to change my diaper and comfort me when I was a little baby! How perfect. You always had the best socks and saddle shoes ever! Thanks for being "You", Uncle Barry. Love You.

Above is a photo of my grandfather, Gramps, and my grandmother, Grammy, at my high school graduation in 2011. Gramps was always a gentle, lovable, soft-spoken, and supportive grandfather to all of his grandchildren. I have fond memories of him, especially as a child, when he came to my elementary school and taught the whole class how to paint an orange, boot and glass bottle. I was proud to point out "Hey, that's my Grandpa!" to the other kids. Moreover, another memory I have is seeing him during the holiday season, as he volunteered and dressed up as Santa Claus every year at Square One mall. I recall saying to those poor  kids waiting in line (as a chatty and unfiltered six-year-old), "That's my Grandpa not Santa!". He also used to  say "Lookie Lookie here comes Cookie" to me.  I never quite knew what that meant as a young girl- but I truly believe he reserved this special catch phrase exclusively for me. It was our little bond. When I was young I remember going to the cottage and always calling it "Cottage Gramps".  A man of many talents, he never ceased to amaze me. He was the patriarch of our family and created such an amazing legacy that will be carried on forever. He was the reason everyone would gather together at Christmas, easters, thanksgivings, birthdays, barbecues, communions, baptisms, graduations, parties and so much more. May you rest in peace my sweet angel. I love and hope to see you again. You will be with me forever and always in my heart and memories.

Barry was a co-worker for many years at Brampton Transit.  He was always a gentleman and a friend. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Watson was a kind, loving, caring and artistic man. I will always cherish my memories of him as our neighbour growing up on Brookland Drive.

He always called me Anne Marie Hiltonburger!😉 I don't know where he got the burger part of my last name but recalling this memory brings a smile to my face and a hug to my heart. This is only one of many memories. 

I will remember his smile and his laugh and his love for his family and friends. 

I'm sure my parents are enjoying a few beverages in heaven reminiscing their shared memories of being neighbours.

May God watch over all of you and keep you in his care. May he give you the strength and the comfort you will need during this difficult time.
