Clive Wesley Ford

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and “Bampy”, Clive Wesley Ford, aged 88, on October 22, 2024 with his beloved wife Beryl by his side. They were on vacation at one of their favourite places, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Clive was healthy, happy and enjoying life to the fullest, for which we will be eternally grateful.

Clive was very proud of his Welsh heritage. He was born in Cardiff, Wales to Charles and May Ford, the fourth of seven children.

Clive and Beryl’s love story began in 1952 on a school bus. They were avid cyclists and spent five years riding a tandem bicycle throughout the British Isles and Europe. In 1957, they married and later welcomed their two daughters, Lynette and Lisa.

Clive was an Electrical Engineer in the UK and came to Canada with his young family in 1965, where he had accepted a two year contract as a Plant Engineer with Atlas Steel. They loved their life in Canada and made many friendships, ultimately deciding to stay. Clive went on to work for Ontario Hydro where he taught young engineers, eventually returning to work in the field. Clive retired from his career with Ontario Hydro as a specialist in Protection and Control Engineering at age 58.

Clive spent the next 30 years volunteering in our community. He was a Commissioner on the Brampton Hydro Commission, a member of Brampton Clean City Committee, and a volunteer on many political election campaigns. One of Clive’s proudest moments was when the Peel District School Board announced a new school was to be named after Beryl.

Clive and Beryl continued their travels throughout their 67 years of marriage. Clive was also an avid gardener, he enjoyed his daily Guinness and his weekly fish and chips.

Clive loved his daughters Lynette (Allan), Lisa (John) and their families, and they loved him fiercely. He became “Bampy” to his beloved grandchildren, Jonathan, Carlee (Stan), Kristie, Dylan (Nicole) and Caitlyn (Chad). He was so proud of his 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Hanna and newborn Parker, and was looking forward to meeting Caitlyn’s baby due in March.

Please join us in celebrating Clive’s life at North Bramalea United Church on Thursday, November 21st at 1:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following. The service will be live-streamed for his family around the world.

We will miss him forever.
