It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Catherine Ann Hough at the age of 70 on August 18th 2023. She leaves behind Franklin Hough, her husband of 44 years, her children Stuart, Eric and Amanda Hough and Claire and Gillian Hough her beloved Grandchildren. Born in Toronto on March 14th 1953 Catherine grew up on a farm in Buttonville, Ontario, her parents Keith Stewart and Frances Vint had two other children – an older sister Barbara and younger brother Douglas.
Catherine held a lifelong passion for reading and learning, having been a Librarian in public schools and then becoming a teacher. She was dedicated to her students and improving their learning experience. Catherine loved to travel and visit libraries around the world. Throughout her life Catherine was fiercely independent and enjoyed getting out and exploring the world around her. She was a prolific baker and always had treats to share for her grandchildren and family. Though her passing was sudden, Catherine will be forever in our hearts.
Service to be held Monday, September 11th 2023, at 1pm at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, Bramalea, Ontario. Private reception to follow. Memorial visitation 1 hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Diabetes Canada.
