Wayne F. Green Jr., 84, of Bradenton, FL passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on July 12, 2023. Wayne was born in Columbus Ohio to Wayne F. Green Sr. and Edna M. (Burchfield) Green on September 22, 1938.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Sr. and Edna Green; daughter, Deborah Hatfield; and son, Keith Green. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sharon Green; brother, Gary Green; grandchildren, Jennifer Pelligrini, Andrea Olmstead, Michael Green, Jessica Green, Katelynn Revels, Jillian Green, and Tara Hatfield; as well as six great grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.
Wayne attended South High School in Columbus, Ohio before serving as an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and remained on the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for four years. He worked at Federal Glass until he moved to Florida where he worked for Tropicana and Manatee County until he retired in 2002.
Wayne had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around at all his family gatherings. He worked hard to always provide for his family and strongly believed in preserving traditions. He liked to spend his weekends watching sports and rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved to spoil the many Pekingese puppies that he and Sharon cared for throughout their marriage.
A visitation for Wayne will be held on Saturday July 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203. Followed by a funeral service. A committal service will occur afterwards at 2:00 PM at Ruskin Memorial Park, 204 Manatee Dr, Ruskin, FL 33570.
Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
