Sonia Renee Self Remmich

Sonia was born in Anderson, SC on July 20, 1962 to Julia Gray Latham and Arnold David Latham. She attended Southside High School in Gadsden, AL and obtained her nursing degree from Gadsden Community College. Sonia had a talent of caring for others and worked as a travel nurse in many locations throughout the United States including Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. Sonia married Mitchell, the love of her life, on April 24, 2016 in a beautiful beachside ceremony.

Sonia loved life and enjoyed traveling, shopping, eating out, and spending time with family and friends. She had just celebrated her 60th birthday with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Sonia was predeceased by her father, Arnold David Latham and daughter, April. She is survived by her husband Mitchell, mother Julia, daughter Angie (Charles) and son Shane (Amber), stepson Matthew (Ali), brother Steve (Joanna), and sister Kim (Russ). She loved all of her grandchildren dearly: Brandon, Ethan, Holland, and Sylvia.

The family will host a celebration of life at Bayside Community Church – Lakewood Ranch Campus, 15800 FL 64, Bradenton, FL 34212 on Friday, July 22 at 1:00pm. Sonia will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
