She was born Linda Christine Rosser on August 11, 1941 in Broadway, Lee County, North Carolina.
Her family relocated to Norfolk, VA at the start of WWII where she spent the next 57 years. Linda attended Norview High School, was a graduate of Tidewater Community College, and a Navy Reservist. She was an employee of the City of Norfolk for more than forty years, forming many long-lasting friendships there.
Linda retired to Grandy, NC, spending more time with friends and family and the things she enjoyed. She was avid about arts and crafts, especially sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed NASCAR, lighthouses, and shopping.
Linda and her husband maintained a winter home in Bradenton, FL for many years, as the Florida weather provided more opportunities for the things they enjoyed, and Linda had relocated to Bradenton 6 months prior to her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Petty and Cortez Rosser; husband, Robert “Buddy” Broome; brother, Charles Rosser; and her son, Joseph Broome. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Case; son-in-law, Charles Guinn; and grandsons, Michael Case and Travis Case. Her life was enriched by many friends. Surviving long-time friends are Helen Sewell and Carol Cossar; and sister-in-law, Joyce Rosser.
A memorial gathering is being planned for late spring in Sanford, NC.
