Gary “Steve” Ricker, age 60, passed away on Monday August 3, 2020, at his home, with his children by his side, in Palmetto Fl. after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 3, 1960 in Florence, Alabama to the late Mark Jacob and Marie Annette Ricker.
During his young years he attended St. Joseph Catholic and later graduated from Southeast High in 1978. After graduation, he joined his brother Mike in running Tropical Interiors Florist. During their 45 years in business, they grew the shop to be one of the most recognized floral business’ in the area. On Steve’s off time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dirt biking, four wheeling and all outdoor adventures. He was an animal enthusiast who provided a home for many rescues throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his daughter Brandi Nicole (27) and son, Tyler Stephen (16). He left behind 6 brothers/sisters: Michael Ricker, Kathy Robuck, Mark Ricker, Linda Harden, Gerald Ricker, and John Ricker, their spouses and children. He also left behind many friends within the community, including his childhood best friend, Ronald Routh. He was loved by all and held many memories with those around him.
