Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sue Vestal; his loving son, Phil Vestal (Erin); and cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Elliot Vestal. He also leaves behind his brothers, Brad Vestal (Margie) and Chris Ferraro (Judy); sisters, Anne Simons (George), Holly Phelps (Jon), Amanda Vestal, Sari Ferraro, and Sharon Ferraro. His extended family includes his sisters-in-law Maureen Shoevlin, Margaret Arellano (Al), and Jennifer Saldukas (Tony), along with 40 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as many friends who will all miss him dearly. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Vestal and Sharon O’Boyle, step-father Louis Ferraro, in-laws Philip and Nancy Shoevlin, sister-in-law Kathleen Shoevlin, and brother-in-law Philip Shoevlin.
Tony's life was filled with joy from activities such as fishing, traveling, attending sports games with his son and grandsons, boating, and shooting targets with his brother. Known for his dry sense of humor, he was also a gifted handyman, a lover of classic rock, and a master griller. He particularly cherished the times spent at his brother Chris and Judy's lake house. His commitment to service was evident in his efforts building playlands in Africa, demonstrating his spirit of generosity and community support.
A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held at Hope Covenant Church, 14401 West Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any Ronald McDonald House, organizations reflecting his compassionate spirit.
The Robert Toale and Sons Celebration of Life Center in Bradenton, FL is assisting the family with the arrangements. Tony's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
