Born in Gabelsville, PA, he was a son of the late Pearl S. (Shaner) and Russell R. Kulp.
Carl was self-employed as a brick mason and owner and operator of Carl S. Kulp Masonry for over 50 years.
He was the Past President of the Liberty Fire Co. in New Berlinville and a life member of the Pike Township Sportsmen's Association and the Bechtelsville Fire Co.
Carl was captain of the Liberty Fire Co. tug-o-war team; Champions of both Boyertown Centennial (1966) and the 100-year Anniversary Boyertown Centennial ( 1976).
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed time spent outdoors doing chores, especially cutting and splitting firewood.
Carl and Nancy enjoyed traveling. Among their adventures were 7 cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean/Africa, as well as visiting all 50 states. A highlight was driving 11,200 miles on the Alaska Highway.
Over the years, Nancy and Carl enjoyed the companionship of their many beloved Bassett Hounds.
He is survived by daughters, Teresa D., widow of Albert Steuer, of Downingtown; Debra A., wife of Richard Wanner, of Alsace Township; and son, Gregory C., husband of Diane (Levengood) of Bechtelsville. Carl is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Benfield, Michael Freed, and Rudy, Tyler, and Molly Kulp; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, and Joshua Krautzel, Braeden and Peyton Freed, Berkeley Kulp, and Kendall Kulp. Carl is also survived by a brother, Kenneth S., widower of Vivian (Leister) Kulp, of Gabelsville.
Funeral Services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512 on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
Family and friends may call Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
Interment will be in Christ Union Cemetery in Niantic.
