George “Pa” Arthur Anadale, Jr., a 59-year resident of Glenn Dale, MD, found peace on December 8, 2024. George was born in Washington D.C. on June 26, 1932. He grew up in North Beach, MD, a place that remained near and dear to his heart his entire life.
He attended and graduated from the University of Maryland ‘Class of 61’, with his degree in engineering.
George is a U.S. Marine who served from 1952 to until his honorable discharge as a 2nd Lt. in 1956. During his military career he was trained as a pilot, and later served in the Marine reserves until 1965, achieving the rank of Captain and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He continued his career working and retiring from the U. S. Navy civilian service, to start his own structural engineering firm.
George was a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators, where he served for years providing guidance and hard decisions.
At his beloved Northen Neck beach home, George enjoyed boating, fishing, feasting on his daily catch while watching the beautiful sunsets. George also enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and most especially spending time with his family.
George is survived by his beloved wife, whom he married in September of 1954, Betty Joan Anadale. He is also survived by his loving children; Dianne Lynn Jones, of Arnold, MD., Steven Carl Anadale of Dunkirk, MD., Suzanne Carole Walker, of Port Republic, MD., Kathleen Marie Anadale of Andover, MA. As well as his 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Anadale, Loving mother Elsie Stone and father George A. Anadale Sr.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 4-7 PM in the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, where services will follow on December 18, 2024 at 10 AM – 16000 Annapolis Road Bowie, MD 20715.
The interment will follow the services in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, Suitland, MD 20746.
Donations may be made in Lieu of Flowers in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
