Earl was a native Washingtonian. He was baptized at an early age and attended D.C. Public Schools where he graduated from Armstrong High School.
He married his childhood sweetheart Ruth Dyke on April 19, 1958 and was still married until the day he departed this earth. From this union, they were blessed with six children.
Earl was a kind-hearted person. He worked tirelessly as a Supervisor at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing where he retired. He also worked in the evenings for the D.C. Department of Recreation at local D.C. Recreation Centers and coached sports. He was a local Head Football Official for Semi-Professional leagues and many athletic leagues throughout the area. He was a Head Basketball Official for IAABO, where he officiated some college, high school, D.C. recreational leagues, CYO, etc. His unknown passion in his earlier days were racing pigeons. He played football, baseball, and basketball himself. He wore the No. 22. From his love of sports, he taught baseball and basketball at the recreation center to neighborhood youth. Earl was a die hearted football fan of the Washington Redskins. He loved his home team! He looked at all sports on television. No matter what the sport was. His other favorite past time was walking. He walked everywhere. If the walk was too far away, he rode public transportation. He always said he did not need a car because he lived in D.C. Eventually he got his car and loved it (a Ford Grenada)!!! By the way, his only car. He was loved and respected by all. He even pierced his three daughter’s ears and the neighbor’s daughters ears as well. He also enjoyed cooking. He was an excellent cook. He did it all!!!!!
He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of over 62 years Ruth Liverpool and six children - Earl Liverpool-deceased (Florida); Darlene Herald (Moe-deceased); Jeffrey Liverpool (Charise); Karen Burroughs (Wayne); Darrell Liverpool, Sr. (Priscilla); Michele Romeo (Norman); and he also raised his grandson Sean Liverpool. He also took in Marilyn Proctor (a cousin) for a short period of time alongside his six children. He had fifteen grandchildren: Earl Jr.; George; Angela; Andrea; Sean; William; Moses Lee III; Lamika; Duval; Shakari; Karin; Darrell, Jr.; Janisha; Jeniyah; and Charise; twenty-six great grandchildren; two sisters - Yvonne Smith and Anita Grooms (deceased); four brothers – Gregory Liverpool; Donald Liverpool; Carl Liverpool and Michael Liverpool; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
