Doris Horst Bower

Married for 70 years, Doris is the beloved wife to Franklin (Dick) R. Bower; loving mother of Darlene Fierstein and her husband Craig, Donna Pence and her husband Mike; cherished grandmother of Amanda Hufton, Kelsey Broujos, Brian Fierstein, Ryan and Marcus Pence; and great grandmother of Raelynn and Weston Hufton. Doris was preceded in death by her sister Josephine Franklin and brother Donald Horst.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late George and Catherine Horst, Doris married the love of her life at the age of 18 and together they moved across five states while raising their two daughters before settling in Potomac, Maryland for 45 years. Doris leaves her loved ones with precious memories of her infectious smile, dancing, and laughter, along with a mountain of postcards from her and Dick’s travels.

Most importantly, Doris has shown her family how to love as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

All service at this time are private. She will later be reunited with her husband Dick with a burial at a much later date.
