Wayne graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He later attended The Catholic University of America and achieved his masters degree. Later becoming an electrical engineer for the U.S Navy, working on noise reduction in nuclear submarines. After retiring, he worked as a tutor both privately and at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He lived in Alexandria VA for most of his career. He also lived with his wife Cynthia in Germany for the first five years of their marriage, where they were able to travel through Europe and also visited Egypt. After retiring he moved with his wife to Cape Cod and settled in Centerville MA. He enjoyed many fun activities in life such as canoeing the rapids throughout the Virginia and Washington DC area and beyond. He was also an amateur ham radio enthusiast.
He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. He is also survived by his niece, Elizabeth Jackson, and three nephews Francis Sellin, John Sellin, and Andrew Sellin who live in the Kalamazoo Michigan area with their extended families. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Linda (Leonard) Caruso of Biloxi MS, Barbara Galiano of Wakefield MA, Debra (Robert) Silver of Forestdale MA, and Pamela (Mark) Carmichael of East Sandwich MA and brothers-in-law Steven Jackson East Ridge TN and Lawrence (Steven Floyd) Jackson of Portland ME. As well as seven nieces, six nephews, five grand-nephews and two grand-nieces.
He is preceded in passing by his brother Donald F. Sellin, sister-in-law Lucy Sellin of Kallamazoo, Michigan, and brother-in-law Daniel C. Jackson.
