a long battle with cancer. Moe, or Mem-Mem, as she was affectionately known, was the loving
daughter of the late John and Nancy Bickerton. She grew up in Halifax with her six sisters and graduated
from Silver Lake High School, class of 1976. Moe married the love of her life, James L. Sorenti of
Sagamore Beach, and had 41 remarkable years together. Moe devoted her life to her three daughters
and family whom she loved unconditionally.
When her children were young Moe was certified in home child care. She enjoyed every moment taking
care of many children and was also a proud Girl Scout leader for Troop #777 for several years. She
worked at Sorenti Brothers, Inc. for 25 years as a secretary and human resources administrator, where
she worked with multiple generations of the family and built life-long relationships.
Moe loved the beach, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, walking to Nonnie and Bumpa’s
house, and especially exploring new places with Jim on their motorcycle and boat. She never went
anywhere without a caring smile and singing songs with her own verses. Everyone who met her knew
Moe was a humble, generous, and kind-hearted person.
Preceded by her sister Judy Bickerton, Maureen is survived by her husband James L. Sorenti, her
children; Lisa J. Hunt of Loudon, NH, Michelle Mullaney of Sagamore Beach, and Angela J. Duca of
Sagamore Beach; her 5 sisters, 6 grandchildren and many extended family members.
