He was born in Milton as the youngest child of Anna and John Brennan. He was a World War II Navy Veteran who served as a Signalman First Class aboard the USS Antietam. A graduate of Boston Latin, Boston College and the Stonier School of Banking, Larry spent his career in the Shawmut Bank as a teller, manager, and eventually Vice President. During his married life Larry and Ruth traveled extensively to tropical locations. Upon retirement Larry enjoyed golfing, creating beautiful backyard gardens, and spending many winters in Florida. He had a wonderful 35 years of retired life on Cape Cod.
He is survived by the love of his life Ruth (Taylor) Brennan and loving daughter Laureen of Huntington Beach, CA. Lawrence also leaves his three grandsons Christopher and Craig Healy and Jason Mostecki. Great-Grandfather to Olivia, Morgan, Matthew, Reilly, Carter, and Owen. He also leave many nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his daughter Carolyn Mostecki, brother John and Sister Dorothea Buckley.
Relatives and friends are invited Tuesday, May 9th to the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 40 Macarthur Blvd, Bourne MA from 7 to 9pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, May 10th, at 11:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Road, Pocasset. Burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery. All are invited back to St. John’s Parish Hall for a time of fellowship following the committal service.
