Born in Sagamore, MA, a son of the late Andrea and Savina (Solari) Oliva.
He was a graduate of Bourne High School and the Gazianni Accordion School in Boston and played all over Cape Cod. He was well known for his quick witted humor, and the ability to sing a limerick or diddly which left most people smiling and laughing.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1943 to 1945 he served aboard the USS Nicholas during WWII. He had worked as a consultant for Comm Electric for 25 years until his retirement.
Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his children Joan Oliva and Marc Oliva; grandchildren, Chris Oliva and his wife Meagan of Hyannis, Heather Erskine and her husband Justin of Castine Maine and Bryce Oliva of Sagamore Beach; 3 great grandchildren Joseph, Matty and Brody and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister Ida Socci of Staten Island NY. Pre deceased by his brothers Frank Oliva and Andrew Oliva, his sister Mary Corradi.
Calling hours Monday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. from St. Margaret Church Buzzards Bay. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
