James Anthony Russo of Pocassett, MA (formerly of Burlington MA). He died peacefully this morning at the age of 88 at the Royal Megansett Nursing Home, N. Falmouth MA (4/22/21) of natural causes. James was a Corporal in the USMC, honorably discharged (national defense service medal). James worked as an Industrial Engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems Division in Bedford MA, retiring after 32 years. He also worked to coordinate the Raytheon Manufacturing Technology Exposition for multiple years.
He was a past member of the Marine Corps League Detachment, Burlington MA, Moose Lodge of Waltham MA and the Sons of Italy in Burlington.
James was a past Selectman candidate and Constable in Burlington MA, He was a notary public, realtor and a Justice of the Peace and a past member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was also involved in the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots program.
James was very active with his children in their many activities whether it be sports, scouting, school or neighborhood activities. He enjoyed camping at Crystal Springs, Bolton MA and in Truro MA on Cape Cod.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Thomas) Russo of Pocasset, MA and the late Jean R (MacNeill) Russo.
He is also survived by his children: James and longtime friend Debbie Heckman (Derry, NH), Kenneth and his wife Mary (Burlington, MA), Linda Watson (Derry, NH) and his stepchildren David Carlson (Wareham, MA), Dana Carlson (Wareham, MA) and Debbie Rubicine (Palm Beach, FLA)
He is survived by 7 Grandchildren: Nick Russo (Derry, NH), Bekki Russo (Derry, NH), Kerri Mogavero (Dracut, MA), Nicole McDonough (Tewksbury, MA), Eva Watson (Derry, NH), Klaudia Watson (Derry, NH), Andrea Watson (Derry, NH), Sadie Heckman (Derry, NH). Also 5 Great Grandchildren: David Lamirande (Manchester, NH), Tyler Mogavero (Dracut, MA), Ryan Mogavero (Dracut, MA), Alexis Reed (Derry, NH), Emily Reed (Derry, NH), Logan McDonough (Tewksbury, MA), Shea McDonough (Tewksbury, MA).
Private services are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA.
