He was the son of the late Johnnie Mack Jeffers and Mary B (Williams) Jeffers of Littleton, North Carolina.
James served 22 years in the US Navy, graduated from Anna Maria College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1990 and was a member of the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Lodge in Sandwich. He was also a proud member of the Shriners.
James is predeceased by his wife, Doris R Jeffers (Yelity), of Pocasset MA and his sister, Joanna Richardson of Philadelphia, PA.
He leaves behind his son Michael D Jeffers of Littleton, NC, his daughter Cheryl Jeffers Rambert of Hyannis, MA, 2 grandchildren Markus J Jeffers and Monique D Jeffers and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Mason K. Jeffers and Kaelyn Williams.
He also leaves behind 2 sister-in-laws, Lillian Turner of Norfolk, VA and Alma Harrison of Littleton, NC as well as a few nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, MA on August 22, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be a private burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery on August 23, 2024.
