Walter Edward Lawrence

With great sadness, Walter Edward Lawrence died July 22, 2021, at his home in Broomfield with family by his side. He was born December 1, 1936, at Boulder Community Hospital to Jack G and Stephonie Hoins Lawrence. He grew up in Nederland graduating from Nederland High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Jackson, June 9, 1956. He was the director for the Center for Labor Education and Research at the University of Colorado Boulder and Labor Arbitrator until retiring in 1994. He is survived by his wife and five children, Walter Jr., Wesley (Myrna), David (Tamara), Debra, Cynthia (Robert); twelve grandchildren, LeGrand, Lydell (Nia), Eliani, Taylor, Lindsay (Avrom), Erin, Bryce (Ashley), Skyler (Brooke), Molly, Annalise, Alex, Jack; four great grandchildren, Emma, Tehanui, Hahani, Hiilelawei; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters, Stephonie Johns and Dolores Smith, preceded him in death.

The family wish to thank TRU Community Hospice for the wonderful, fantastic professional care and guidance given to Walter and the family. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 22 2021, at 10:00am at the Lionsgate Event Center, the Gate House, 1055 Highway 287, Lafayette Colorado. Masks are required.
