He was born on April 5, 1938 in Wolbach, Nebraska to Chauncey and Grace Edwards. Larry attended Grand Island Senior High School and graduated in 1956.
In 1958 Larry married Phyllis Spiehs and they lived in Millard, Nebraska, where their first three children were born. In 1968 Larry accepted a job as a model maker / machinist at IBM and moved his family to Niwot, Colorado where he worked until retiring in 1986. Two other children were born. Larry and Phyllis built a country home on acreage which allowed Larry to pursue his many hobbies including raising animals, restoring classic cars, and gardening. Larry loved tinkering with anything mechanical and could get any broken internal combustion engine going again.
Larry was a man of great faith, leading his family to follow the Lord. He was famous for his Christmas Eve family sermonettes. He was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church since 1986.
Larry and Phyllis enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They faithfully kept their covenant with each other and with the Lord Jesus Christ as the center of their marriage. Larry and Phyllis finished well in obeying God’s command for unconditional faithfulness throughout their 63 years together.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Edwards, children Craig Edwards (Karen), Gina Solanyk (Victor), Michalle Curtis (Dave), Brent Edwards (Lori) and Rachel Worthington. Larry and Phyllis were blessed with thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Monday, December 6 at Calvary Bible Church, 3245 Kalmia Ave, Boulder, Colorado, at 1pm. Burial will follow immediately at Mountain View Memorial Park. Afterwards, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Calvary Bible Church.
