John was born Sept 20, 1924 in Phillipsburg KS to Harm and Lulu Woltman. He married Olive Baker on December 7, 1947 at the Methodist Parsonage in Phillipsburg. Shortly after they married they moved to Colorado, establishing their home with their 4 children in North Boulder. They continued to enjoy many family gatherings, in the home they built, which included their children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
John was an electrical contractor starting a partnership with Bob Corl in 1965 as C&W Electric and in 1983 he and his sons formed Dutchman Electric, Inc. He continued to be active in the later until his untimely death.
John was instrumental in the establishment of Boulder Rural Fire Dept. He also enjoyed square dancing with Ruffles and Shuffles, being a “snowbird” with Boulder Rollers and was a lifetime member of the Boulder Elks Lodge 566. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Boulder and most recently of Longs Peak United Methodist Church of Longmont.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Olive, his 4 children, Ellen (Terry) Brafford, Mesa, AZ. Jeanne (Bob) Peters of Northglenn, CO, Michael (Susan) Woltman of Longmont, CO and Bob (Nancy) Woltman of Louisville, CO. as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Crist Mortuary in Boulder from 6-8 Monday April 23, 2012 and a memorial service at Longs Peak United Methodist Church 1421 Elmhurst Drive, Longmont Tuesday, April 24, at 11 a.m. A private burial will follow the services.
