Donna Lee Meyer was born April 15, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Don and Helen Meyer. Donna resided in Rosedale Park with her siblings Jack, Ruth, Dorothy, and Don.
In 1955, Donna moved to Lakewood, Ohio until she relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1961 and graduated from South High School the following year.
Donna then returned to Michigan to attend college at Michigan State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. After graduating Donna remained in Detroit to work at Hudson’s Department store as a Home Goods Buyer while living with her grandparents.
Upon the death of her grandmother, Donna moved back to Denver, and took a job at The Denver Dry Goods department store, where she met the love of her life, Tom Rogers.
Tom and Donna were married in 1973 and spent 45 wonderful years together. They purchased and ran three women’s clothing stores, two in Boulder, Brooks Fauber and China Jones and Julian’s in Fort Collins. They loved spending time in NYC while on their buying trips together. For over 30 years, Donna & Tom split their time between their two homes, one in Palm Desert, CA and the other in Boulder, CO where they were members of both Country Clubs.
Donna enjoyed traveling around the world, cooking (she was an amazing cook), playing golf, Mahjong, and Bridge but her main passion was her love of animals, more specifically Bichon Frise’s. Through the years she had several of her own Bichons, but she was also involved in the breeding and showing of many prize-winning Bichon Frise’s.
After struggling with a grueling illness, Donna was able to rest-in-peace on November 19, 2023, at the Katherine & Charles Hover Green Houses, in Longmont, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Helen Meyer, sister Dorothy Brown, and husband Tom Rogers. She is survived by sister Ruth Meyer (Glenda), Marilynn Mons (Gary) brothers Jack Meyer (Linda), Don Meyer (Kelly), her three daughters Lynn Rogers (Casey Tucker), Ann Barnsley (Sam), and Patricia Kinder (Brad) along with six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lastly, Donna left behind her best friend and beloved dog Riser.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Grace Commons Church 1820 15th Street, Boulder, Colorado 80302
