Cole Timothy Parkinson, most recently of Boulder, CO, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. Born to Susan and Tim Parkinson on February 22, 1996, in Ft Worth, TX, the family relocated Cole and his best friend-worst enemy sister Haleigh, to Morrison, CO later that year.
Armed with gentle affability and humor—some might say goofiness unbridled--Cole won the hearts of all who knew him. Athletic and smart, Cole was a smiling presence throughout his years at Red Rocks Elementary and D’Evelyn High School where he lettered in Cross Country, Track and Golf as a single-digit handicap golfer.
Cole enlisted in the US Navy after graduation and received a Naval Special Warfare contract for BUD/S SEAL training in Coronado, CA. His final Navy years were spent as a Corpsman at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island near Oak Harbor, WA.
Returning home to Colorado, Cole enrolled in the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder with a focus on finance and real estate. A true Colorado son, he continued his passions of trail running, mountain sports and hiking. He especially enjoyed riding his snowboard and cruising the Colorado roadways on his beloved motorcycle “Cherise” (French for Dear One) and following Moto GP and F1 racing.
When not in Colorado, Cole continued his passion for the outdoors, spending time relaxing or enjoying the lakes and woods of northern Wisconsin with those he loved. Hunting, boating, fishing or just “hanging” created memories his family will forever cherish.
Cole is survived by his father Tim and stepmother Kristi of Orono, MN; mother Susan and stepfather Terry Elliott of Golden, CO, and siblings Haleigh Parkinson; Trey, Nicole and David Anderson; and Kyle and Kevin Elliott. Cole’s family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends will forever miss his warm smile, sense of humor and hugs.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17 at Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Share Winter Foundation (sharewinterfoundation.org), Wags & Walks (wagsandwalks.org) or Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue (rmfr-colorado.org) in Cole’s honor.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cristmortuary.com for the Parkinson family.
