Charles F. Miller, 84, of Broomfield passed away quietly in his sleep on January 14, 2013 in his home. He was born on May 6, 1928 in Alexandria, VA to Frank and Anne Lenore Miller (Wells). After high school, Charles enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a cameraman in the 167th Signal Photo Company for 2 years during WWII. In May of 1953, he met Frances Michela. They were married three weeks later and celebrated 56 years of happiness together. They moved to Boulder in 1954 and had four children. Charles worked for CU as a plant engineer/supervisor for many years.
Charles' many interests included photography, films, trains and travelling around the world. He was also an avid technology aficionado. Charles spoke many languages, was well-read and also authored several books. He was a Renaissance Man who was loved and will be truly missed.
Charles is survived by four daughters- Midge (Rick) Carver, Tina (Don) Brown, Terry Bain and Kathy (Ken) Cermak all of whom live in the immediate area; six grandchildren-Jamie, Heather, Ilea, Dagan, Sean and Eric and four great-grandchildren-Brian, Joe, Tyler and Kayla. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances, on November 4, 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Crist Mortuary Chapel. A reception will immediately follow the service, also at Crist Mortuary. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Mountain View Memorial Park.
