Bruce Owen Dopps

Bruce Owen Dopps was born in Seattle, March 14th, 1945, to Erdene and Howard Dopps.

He passed away 2023, June 4th, 6:45 pm, due to complications from prostate cancer.

His last days were semi-comfortably and spent in Hospice treatment at home in Woodinville.

He is survived by his son David, Ex-wife Jeanette, brother Ken, and sister Naomi.

Bruce graduated from Roosevelt High in 1963, and with high marks graduated the Navy Air Reserve Academy in 1965, and spent two more years on reserve stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Station.

He was married to Jeanette van der Heyden, in 1966, and son David born in 1967.

Bruce worked as a motorcycle mechanic for 5 years with his brother Ken, and then became crew foreman for a commercial and residential landscape company for 30 years. Later he spent his last 10 working years as a heavy machinery mechanic for a large metal recycling facility.

After surviving a heart attack in his 50’s, and working another 10 years as a mechanic, Bruce retired to his hobbies of growing a variety of plants and fuchsia flowers, mechanical puttering on his truck and fierro sports car, visiting friends and family, and traveling around the PNW enjoying the natural beauty.
