Alora Ann Groshong (née Hinz) passed away on October 9, 2023, at the age of 62 in Bothell, Washington. She was born on November 8, 1960, in Issaquah, Washington. Alora was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Alora was known for her kind and caring nature, her intelligence, and her beautiful spirit. She lived life to the fullest, always maintaining a high level of integrity and a caring attitude towards others. She had a special love for cats and provided a loving home to several rescues throughout her life. Alora's presence brightened the lives of those around her, and her memory will continue to do so.
She is survived by her brothers, Greg Hinz and Gary Hinz, as well as her nephew Michael Carpenter, niece Tonia (Carpenter) DiDonna, and eight great nephews and nieces. Alora was preceded in death by her father, Richard "Dick" Hinz, her mother, Tonia (Wawryski) Hinz, and her sister, Jeri Jo (Hinz) Brackett.
Alora graduated from Bothell Washington High School in 1977. She had a successful career, most recently working at Byte software. Her boss described her as intelligent, committed, thorough, and dependable. Alora's dedication and accuracy in her work were undisputed.
A memorial service to celebrate Alora's life will be announced at a later date. In honor of her memory, contributions can be made to paws.org or by adopting a cat. Alora's love for cats can continue to make a difference in the lives of these animals.
