Richard J. Minard, 82 years of age, of Boston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Born in Rochester, NY on September 22, 1929 to the late Mary Florence (Snell) and Norris Minard. Richard is predeceased by his siblings Mary Terhaar, Sherman, Everett and Norris Minard Jr.
He graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, NY in 1947 and served in the US Army for 2 years in Germany in the Medical Core. Richard graduated from State University of New York in Geneseo in 1957. After graduating he became a high school teacher in Seneca, NY where he worked from 1957 to 1962. Richard was the northeastern representative of Northeastern Retail Lumber Association. From 1967 until his retirement in 1988, he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank as a bank examiner. During his years at the Federal Reserve Bank he was a volunteer fundraiser for the United Way. Richard’s happiest years were spent selling Pie in the Sky for Community Servings.
He is survived by his close friends Joe Haley, Eric Tingdahl, Richard Olson, Richard Smith, Stephen Mastrorilli and Matt Dickerson. Richard also leaves behind his loving partner of 44 years Hal Langell. At Richard's request there are no services.
