(Mary) Michele Morgan ~ Formally of Brighton and a longtime resident of the North End of Boston passed away peacefully on the evening of September 29, 2024. She is now dancing in the streets of Heaven. Michele is predeceased by her parents Mary (Ryan) and Frank Morgan. Michele is survived by her loving friend and roommate, Rosemary McAuliffe. Michele attended Mt. St. Joseph’s Academy and Mission High School and is a graduate of Boston University.
Michele lived the life of a bohemian. Her eccentric persona emblazoned the streets of the North End and the greater City of Boston. Michele was always present with camera in tow and a quizzical mind. She made herself comfortably present in all events (invited or not) whether it was a wedding, shower, birthday, anniversary and more. She especially enjoyed attending political events and was so very well known by all of her Congressmen/women, Mayor(s), State Reps, and City Councilors…(relentlessly she got her absentee ballot in). Michele would present herself as “the” photographer and snap away and then prepare the most beautiful albums.
Michele knew everyone’s birthday … and I mean EVERYONE’s .. including cats and dogs. And everyone would receive a birthday card every single year. (Michele would let everyone know that she and President Joe Biden shared the same birthday) She loved to put a smile on your face and she loved to make you feel like you were the most special person alive. Michele would show up to your door with a box of cannoli’s from Modern Pastry, or tiramisu from Café Vittoria just because she was thinking of you.
Michele was strong willed and we can say (ahem) stubborn at times and she was never lost for words whether the words were appropriate or not. She was unapologetic because as Michele would say, “she was always right”!
Michele struggled the last three years of her life after she survived a massive stroke that left her semi paralyzed. This malady tethered her to her room in the North End Rehab and was a torment to her incredibly social lifestyle that she so cherished. In true Michele style she would keep her ear to the ground and somehow know of all the gossip of the town well before most media outlets would know. She kept in constant contact with the world beyond the four walls of her rehab by calling everyone she knew.. sometimes as often as 50 times a day.
And now she fly’s untethered. Our bohemian is free to journey without any boundaries. She is free to capture all of life’s beautiful moments, amazing sunrises and sunsets. She can dance with the wind beneath her feet.
