Deborah (Debbie) DuBois, Age 71 years, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family. Debbie was the loving and devoted mother to her daughter Natalie McManus and her son, Marc DuBois. She was also a beloved sister, auntie, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Although she had no grandchildren of her own, she was a grandmother figure to many children in her life and a doting Nana to her grand dogs.
Debbie was born on April 4, 1952, to Helen Bernadette Nunes and Anthony Senna Nunes. She was raised in the North End of Boston with her sister Clare and brother Anthony. Debbie grew up with deeply rooted Italian traditions and was surrounded by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends in her North End neighborhood.
Debbie graduated from Brighton High School in 1969. She attended ITT school and worked in the computer lab at the Sears Roebuck company where she met her best friend, to this day, Birgit Rose. Debbie was married in 1972 and moved to Avon, MA, where she raised her two children. In addition to being a loving homemaker, Debbie worked in customer service for Costco’s Wholesale and Chadwick’s of Boston for many years, where she formed life-long friendships. After over 35 years in Avon, Debbie moved to Naples, Florida in 2012, where she lived until the time of her passing.
Debbie was a mother to her core. She was happiest when caring for others and feeding friends and family with her delicious home-cooked Italian meals. She had an infectious energy and was the life of the party. She loved music, and enjoyed dancing to golden oldies, Elvis Presley, and Motown hits. Debbie was known for her fun-loving spirit, kindness, warmth, and nurturing nature. She was best described as a true gem who was so easy to love. Debbie found goodness in everyone and always had a smile on her face. She loved the sunshine and relaxing on the beaches near her home in Naples. When she wasn’t at the beach, you could find her chatting away with friends at happy hour or at her favorite local coffee shop. Debbie truly cherished spending time with her many close friends and family members.
Deborah is survived by her children, Natalie McManus and Marc DuBois, her sister and best friend, Clare Pierce, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother, Helen Nunes, father, Anthony Nunes, brother, Anthony Nunes, son in law, James McManus and former husband and father of her children, Joseph DuBois. Her spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. Debbie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her.
A memorial service will be held for Debbie in her cherished childhood neighborhood of the North End. Services will be on Thursday, February 15th from 11:00AM to 3:00PM at J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel located on 580 Commercial Street, Boston. COMPLIMENTARY VALET PARKING ATTENDANTS AT FRONT DOOR
