Anthony "Tony" Gerald Carifio

Anthony “Tony” G. Carifio of Boston’s North End passed away on March 13, 2022. Life-long resident of the North End. Beloved husband of Donna-Marie (Rice) Carifio. Loving father of Michael Peppard and the late Doris (Darling) Peppard of Orange, Shawnee B. Carifio-Herbert and her husband James Herbert of Cotuit. Cherished grandfather of Michael, John, Sirona Nicolina; great-grandfather of Thomas Anthony Finlay. Brother of Lawrence Carifio of Revere. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony retired after working over 30 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the Bureau of State Office Buildings. Previous staff member with Governor Volpe and Governor Sargent, Employee of the Year under Governor Dukakis. President of C.S.& W inc. owners of harness racers in the early seventies. San Marco/Lincoln Wharf advisory board member and one of the original elected trustees. Tony was a member of the Friends of the North End.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, April 4, 2022 at St. Stephen Church, 401 Hanover St., Boston.
