Lyla Jean Fugitt

Lyla Jean Fugitt, 81, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, from the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born May 12, 1943, to Dearil T. Lambert and Movaline Lambert Harling (Aubra). Ms. Lyla was an avid sewer and gardener. She was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. She also attended Fairview Baptist Church where she was a member of the ladies group. The highlight of her life was being able to spoil her grandchild and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Leana Gargus (Rickey); granddaughter, Amanda Hargett (Bryan); two great grandchildren, Reid Hargett and Zaidee Hargett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dickie Fugitt; parents; step father; two brothers, George Aaron Lambert and James Earl Lambert; and two sisters, Kathryn Drews and Reba Nell Lambert.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home.

Services honoring the life of Lyla Jean Fugitt will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Evetts and Bro. Josh Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Reid Hargett, Bryan Hargett, and Rickey Gargus.
