Artie Joy Osborn, 87, entered into the presence of her Savior peacefully on April 29, 2019, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation in Booneville. She was born on December 12, 1931, to Elgie and Mary Tine Perrigo. She attended school at Bynum Line, Hinkle and Biggersville before finishing her education at Pisgah High School. She learned a strong work ethic and meticulous housekeeping, yard and gardening skills by working along side her parents and two brothers, Herschel and Bobby. She married Bob Osborn on August 10, 1949. They made their home and raised their three children in the Pisgah Community. They were active members of Pisgah United Methodist Church and perfect examples of a good neighbor to all, as long as health permitted. She devoted her life to caring for her family, particularly her daughter, Diane Green, during her failing health. Her family rejoices that she has been reunited with her beloved daughter and family. Joy and Bob worked many years in factories such as Weaver’s, ITT, Plumrose and lastly, at Circle Y Restaurant. She made lasting friendships throughout her working years. She was honored by her church as the Outstanding Member at Homecoming in 2001. She continued her service to God, through her church until June 2016. The family is eternally grateful for the doctors, nurses and staff at Landmark and Kindred Hospice for their dedication to Joy over the past three years.
Services will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel. Her Pastor, Bro. Danny Estes and dear friend Bill Wimberley will be conducting the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pisgah United Methodist Church cemetery.
Joy is survived by one son, Darrell Osborn and one daughter, Renee Henley and two grandsons, Brad Green and Hunter Henley and 3 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a host of beloved friends, nieces and nephews and their families.
