Geraldine “Jerri” Joyce Caldwell Jackson, 85, of Booneville passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was born October 15, 1928, to Emitt and Etoile Smith Caldwell. She retired in 1994 from Bancorpsouth, Booneville. A longtime devoted member of First United Methodist Church, serving in many positions through the years, as long as health permitted. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and “Nana”.
A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Bro. Phillip Box and Bro. David Lowery officiating. Burial will be in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of McMillan Funeral Home.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Jackson Goode of Madison, Kathy Jackson Mosier of Starkville, and Jennifer Jackson Sparks (Greg) of Booneville; two sons, James Steven Jackson of Batavia, IL and Danny Jackson of Madison; three grandchildren, Tyler Sparks of Oxford, Colette Jackson of Madison, and Emily Sparks of Booneville; one sister, Sara Leathers (Prentiss Wayne) of Booneville; one brother, Wayne Caldwell of Clinton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Winfred “Wimp” Calwell; one sister, Melba Perrigo, one son-in-law, James Moiser; and the father of her children, James “Bill” Jackson.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Saturday, December 7, 2013 and until 12:00 noon on Sunday at McMillan Funeral Home.
