D J Cooksey, 76, of Rienzi passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Tishomingo Community Living Center. He attended Charity Baptist Church and he loved woodworking, building things, fishing and hunting.
A celebration of life will be at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Hooper officiating. Burial will be in the Jacinto Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his sons, Greg Edward Cooksey of Montana and William Lee “Billy” Cooksey of New York; his sisters, Helen Johnson of Booneville and Juanita McVay of Rienzi; and his grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Otto and Elsie Viola Cooksey; his son, Douglas Jonathon Cooksey and his brothers, JC Cooksey and JE Cooksey.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie McVay, James Anthony Cooksey and Greg Bullock.
