Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Ralph H. Campos was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Ralph will always be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Ralph was born in Mexicali, B. C., Mexico on July 26, 1923. His parents were Arturo Campos and Elena Hale Campos. He was raised with 9 siblings, Francisco, Guadalupe, Emma, Raul, Evangelina, Concepcion, Olga, Gloria and Irma.
Early years included special and memorable times with the beloved Lugo and Ramirez families. He loved music, basketball, golf, travel and his family. He was a gifted athlete and was a member of the WAH-MEX select basketball team that was formed on July 1, 1940. The team was composed of Mexican and Chinese players representing the city of Mexicali, Baja California and played throughout the state of Mexico. Later they were inducted into the Sports, “Hall of Fame” of Mexicali, on October 21, 2005. Ralph, Frances and his children loved traveling. Barbecuing carne asada was a favorite pastime activity for him with family member s and friends. He was a skilled golfer and played in numerous golf tournaments in Mexicali, Tijuana and Calexico California during his lifetime.
Ralph coached family members and friends to appreciate the game of golf. He worked as a truck driver for Potter Trucking Inc., Thompson Trucking Line and System 99 Truck Line for approximately 37 years in the Imperial Valley and in Chula Vista, California.
Holidays and family celebrations were important activities conducted throughout his lifetime and he was a man of integrity, honor and with strong family values. Ralph was always a person that provided assistance and gave a helping hand to needy individuals.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father Arturo Campos and his mother Elena H. Campos two brothers, three sisters and several close cousins and dear friends. Ralph is survived by his wife of 63 years Frances Leon Campos and his sons Ralph, Frank, Victor and Hector. He had seven grandchildren Christopher, Aimee, Justin, Eric, Carla, Brandon and Ashley. Ralph also had three great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jack and Roland and numerous siblings such as cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family and friends. Pallbearers are Christopher Campos, Justin Campos, Eric Campos, Myron Mendoza, Brandon Campos and Franklin Mah. Honorary Pallbearers are Allison Mah, Emerson Mah, Larry Mah and Dan Pippenger.

Simply stated, Ralph was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ralph leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember him with a smile.
