Paula Ann Koch peacefully passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California. She spent her last few days with her family, surrounded in love, and is now in the loving arms of her heavenly Father. She was 73.
Paula was born on September 13, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA to her parents, Vince and Pauline Roberts. She was blessed to be raised within close proximity to many beloved aunts and uncles, as well as her cousins, whom also became her life-long best friends.
After graduating high school in Oakland, CA she began working in the credit office at Sears where she met the love of her life, John, who was also working there part time while stationed at Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco. They were later married at Trinity Lutheran Church in July of 1965. Being a navy wife always brought her great joy and pride.
John and Paula were transferred from the Bay Area to San Diego in the fall of 1966. It was in San Diego that Paula began working in the automobile business. Her career began as a payroll clerk in the business office, but later she accepted a position as a Business Manager and eventually a Controller. She worked as a Controller until her retirement in 2012. She was an accomplished business woman, admired by many for her tenacity and success as well as her kindness and generosity towards her coworkers and friends.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, John; their three children, Bobby, Cathy, and April; four grandchildren, Charmagne, Conor, Johnny, and Jace; and three great grandchildren. Along with many, many friends and family who will undoubtedly miss her light and laughter.
