Linda Joan (Burns) Rittenhouse was born on February 3, 1940 to Robert and Edna Sue Burns in Los Angeles, Ca. She was raised the city of Rosemead with two siblings, Robert Burns, Jr., and Sue Tollerino. Linda attended Rosemead high school and graduated in 1958.
Linda met and fell in love with John D. Rittenhouse and the couple happily exchanged wedding vows, January 19, 1986. The wedding ceremony was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda was blessed with 2 children, Greg John Kalte and Michelle “Mickie” Strahle, and two step children, Jon Michelle and Keith Rittenhouse. Later in life she blessed again in receiving the joy of four grandchildren.
Fortunately, Linda enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Linda worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Linda was employed in Management for Bell & Howell for 15 years. Another of her many accomplishments were having her own Secretarial service for several years.
Linda enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various activities including crossword puzzles, boating, and sun tanning. She loved dogs and fish, she loved vacationing at Lawrence Welk Resort by taking walks along the river, drinking white Zinfandel and being among her family and friends. Knowing all about her grandchildren and what they were doing. Having her family and friends join her in her parties at her ranch.
Linda left us on March 20, 2012. She passed away at Sharp Hospital in Chula Vista of natural causes. She is survived by her loving devoted husband, John Rittenhouse, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Michelle Kalte, “Mickie”, Michelle Strahle, her daughter. Bob and Judy Burns, brother and sister-in-law, sister Sue Tollerino, grandchildren, Maranda and Nathan Kalte, grandsons Rob and Glen Strahle, stepchildren, Jon, Michelle and Keith Rittenhouse and nieces Terry and Jerry. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Glen Abbey Memorial Park on March 27, 2012. Linda Joan Rittenhouse was later laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
