Leslie Leigh Elliott, 67 passed away on Monday, December 12th, 2022, in Santee, California. She was born on November 30th, 1955, to Peggy Ann Elliott and O’Brien Romeo Elliott in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Leslie was a legendary English, speech, and drama teacher in the Sweetwater School District and throughout San Diego County. Her impact on the students she taught was profound. Students both loved and admired Leslie’s ability to simplify complex subjects, elevate their academic performance, and personally care for their well-being. Leslie earned her Bachelor of Arts and California Teaching Credential at San Diego State University, and her Master of Arts in Education from National University.
Leslie was also a paid Actress in “Top Gun” starring Tom Cruise, “Herbie Goes Bananas” with Cloris Leachman, “Dogs” starring David McCallum, television ministries “Space” with James Garner, and in local print ads and television commercials throughout San Diego County. Leslie was trained by renown actor and director William Virchis, and the famed stage, screen, and television producer Paul Gregory when she attended San Diego State University. She was part of Mr. Gregory’s praised Reader’s Theater group that performed in Southern California.
Leslie was a devoted sister to her brother Byrne Elliott, and sisters Briana Ann Elliott (deceased), Judy Lynn Elliott (deceased), and Sarah Coke Elliott (deceased). She was always there to share her time, laughter, and educational skills with her family. Leslie’s presence in this world added hope, beauty, and an ever-glowing eternal light.
Leslie is survived by her brother and best friend Byrne, two nephews and one niece.
