José Ysabel Medina Navarro was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, José will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
José was born in, and grew up in, Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, on July 1, 1923. He was the son of Juan Medina and Nicolasa Navarro. José was raised with six siblings. He had four sisters, Maria, Aurelia, Cerafina and Erlinda, and two brothers Cosme and Martin. They shared many life experiences over the years.
On August 19, 1951, José exchanged wedding vows with Geronima Martinez at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Empathic and loyal, José was committed to making his new family happy. He worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. José was blessed with ten children, five daughters, Virginia Alvarez, María Isabel Fernandez, María de la Paz Medina, Teresa Amezquita and Juana Alicia Salinas, and five sons, Roberto Medina, Andres Martinez, Angel Medina, Arturo Medina and Armando Medina. Another blessing for José was the gift of thirty-five grandchildren and forty-two great grandchildren.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, José enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, José worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career as a Barber. He was employed for forty years.
José passed away on August 10, 2013 in San Diego, California. He is survived by his daughters, Virginia Alvarez, María Isabel Fernandez, Teresa Amezquita and Juana Alicia Salinas, and his sons, Andres Martinez, Angel Medina, Arturo Medina and Armando Medina.
Services were held at the Little Chapel of the Roses and the Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita California on August 18th and 19th, 2013. José was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California, on August 19th, 2013.
Simply stated, José was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. José leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember José Ysabel Medina Navarro.
