July 17, 2024 at the age of 40. Surrounded by us and his sisters in his final moments we can assure he
passed peacefully and comfortably. We can say he was always known for his gigantic smile and unique
laugh that always lit up the room. Unfortunately, at the start of this year he had covid and it caused long term problems on his lungs. Beginning of March he went into the Naval Base Balboa Hospital and was admitted into the ICU for hypoxia. We were told that he would not survive the battle, but fortunately a miracle happened and he was discharged to go home. After a week of him being at home he unfortunately was taken back to Sharp Chula Vista and admitted for pneumonia and hypoxia where he was treated for almost three weeks. He was discharged and brought home with us where he was happy after being cared for by us for two months. Recently Jonathan was admitted back into the ICU at Naval Base Balboa Hospital for pneumonia where he got slightly more delicate as the days passed. Unfortunately, doctors told us that his lungs were not doing the function they needed for him to live and we were left with a hard decision. Sadly, Tuesday he was put on comfort care and Wednesday we decided to remove all oxygen and let him live his last moments with us. Jonathan was never alone these past few months he was always surrounded by love and support from us and we made sure that even in his last moments he knew we were there.
We hope that all of you can join us for his memorial services and we would appreciate those who attend
to wear white in order to honor him. Jonathan was loved and we can say that his passing is a memory that our family will always carry.
Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
