Felicidad M. Lopez

Felicidad M. Lopez was a modest woman, quiet and observant in her ways. She was trustworthy and traditional in her approach to her life and in her relationships. She was tough-minded, yet kind which earned the respect of all who knew her. She was also a woman who was meticulous, carefully disciplined, and orderly in virtually everything she undertook. Realistic about life, she was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.

Felicidad was born on January 30, 1920 in Rosario, La Union, Philippines. She was the daughter of Doroteo Martir and Braulia Lachica.

Felicidad was raised with five siblings. They were Anastacia, Amadeo, Casiano, Felimon, and Flordeliza. Felicidad was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many special life experiences over the years.

Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Felicidad enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. She developed very close relationships with Caridad Abellera, Bernardina Martir and Milagros Bautista.

On January 4, 1943 Felicidad exchanged wedding vows with Florencio Lopez. Empathic and loyal, Felicidad was committed to making her new family happy.

Felicidad worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Felicidad was blessed with four children, Milagros, Amadeo, Fernando and Claro. Another blessing for Felicidad was the gift of seven grandchildren, Charles, Sheila, Andrew, Al, Donne Carlo, Neil Clarence, and Mike Renzo.

Fortunately, Felicidad enjoyed what she did for a living. Her primary occupation was a homemaker. Felicidad always sought to be the best wife and mother, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. She enjoyed raising her family.

Felicidad was a woman who took pride in upholding her beliefs. So it is little wonder that she took an active role in her community, serving on committees that raised funds for the construction of her hometown's "welcome arch".

Sadly, Felicidad passed away on July 23, 2010 at Sharp Hospital in Chula Vista, California. She is survived by her children Milagros Lopez- Oribello, Amadeo Lopez, Fernando Lopez and Claro Lopez; as well as her grandchildren, Charles Oribello, Sheila Oribello, Andrew Lopez, Al Lopez, Donne Carlo Lopez, Neil Clarence Lopez, and Mike Renzo Lopez . Services were held at Saint Michael's Catholic Church. Felicidad was laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California.

Simply stated, Felicidad was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Felicidad leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Felicidad M. Lopez.
