Armando Gonzales Garcia, 68, died peacefully on August 20, 2020, at the VA Medical Center, in San Diego, California. He was born on June 26,1952 in Makati Rizal, Philippines, to Delfin and Milagros Garcia. He lived in Parang, Marikina Rizal in the Philippines. Armand attended Roosevelt College, Marikina, Philippines. He attended college at Far Eastern University of Manila, Philippines until migrating to the United States of America. Armand, along with four siblings, Del Francisco, Avel Garcia, Amor Ordonez and Anariza Rancuret immigrated to the United States in April of 1978 joining their brothers Albert and Tony Garcia settling in Daly City, California. He received his U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization status in 1987.
Armand leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Teresita Monjardin, sons Michael, and Melvin and daughters Aizza, Rachel, and Madelynn. He also had 5 grandchildren: Devin, Chloe, Layla, Caleb and Jaiden.
Armand proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 year through 2002. Through the Navy, he travelled to many different countries from Japan, Europe, and Africa and finally settled permanently in San Diego. He retired from the U.S. Navy on January 31, 2002. Following retirement, he continued serving the U.S. Government through Homeland Security as a Border Patrol. He retired from Homeland Security after 10 years in 2018. In his spare time, he served as an active volunteer at the Open Bible International Church and enjoyed playing his instruments with friends. He was a member of many rock bands throughout his life. He played many musical instruments ranging from guitar, bass, and keyboard, while also being a lead singer.
Armand was a hard-working individual, always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. His love to family made him stronger than ever and his passion to music gave him strength to live life fully.
