Antonio (Tony) was born in Chula Vista, CA and lived in the area his entire life. He attended Chula Vista High School where he was a member of one of the first graduating classes of the newly built school.
Tony worked in the family agriculture business from an early age and later went on to farm on his own for over 40 years raising cucumbers, pole tomatoes and celery in the Otay Mesa area and Baja California. He was a pioneer in the early adoption of drip irrigation technologies and later became a consulting farmer to larger farming organizations in Southern California and Mexico.
Tony had a passion for music, especially Mariachi music and he loved to collect and donate various musical instruments to family, friends and organizations.
In his later years, Tony spent much of his time with his grand children and shared stories of his work travels throughout Mexico. He loved to visit religious historical sites in Mexico and always made sure to bring home memorabilia and collectible artifacts from these sacred sites.
Tony leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Mary Anne Cacho,
three children, Catherine Cacho-Arellano, Paul Cacho and Patricia Cacho-Gomez, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
